If you are an avid reader of my posts here, you’ll find that there is a common theme in my journey to 2.0. There are a lot of things that have gone undone and unseen in my life up to this point and I’m trying to make it a point to do and see some of those things. I thought it would be fun to play a game of “Never Have I Ever” to showcase some of the many absentee entities in my world. For now, I will focus exclusively on TV shows and movies.
Over the years, I have left people shocked and straight up damn flabbergasted when they would find out about a certain show or movie I have never seen. Needless to say, I am not what you would call a “movie person”. Hell, I just watched the Matrix Trilogy for the first time this summer. In the age of YouTube and streaming (Netflix, Hulu, etc.), I’ve been watching more movies and TV shows than ever, but some might still be disappointed.
THE LORD OF THE RINGS
That is correct, I have never seen The Lord of the Rings. I would not be able to tell you the plot or a single character’s name. That thing to the left looks familiar, what it is – I do not know. Although I am trying to make it a point to watch some of the things on this list, I don’t know if I’ll ever watch this one.
I never hopped on the Walter train, but many people have been urging me to do so. Breaking Bad is on my list of things to start on Netflix, but I have no motivation because I know how it ends (Thanks, Twitter). Does knowing the ending take away from the experience? Let me know in the comments.
SNOW WHITE & THE SEVEN DWARFS
Honestly, Disney movies I haven’t seen could be a totally separate post. I searched for a list of most popular classic Disney movies and picked the most popular one I haven’t seen to include in this list. Are you shocked yet?
GAME OF THRONES
I would be able to go buy myself something nice if I had a dollar for every time I was verbally or digitally attacked because I won’t watch Game of Thrones. I can’t front – I tried to watch it. Episode 1 did not pass my “Episode 1 Test.” For some reason, I couldn’t finish the whole thing. At this point, I doubt that I will. Cussing me out probably won’t change that, however I am open to attempts.
I don’t have a real reason for not seeing Star Wars. I am not opposed to watching it, in fact I will officially say it’s on my growing queue of movies to see. My knowledge of the franchise doesn’t go beyond Maury Povich-ready issues of paternity and Krispy Kreme hairstyles. Am I really missing out though? If so, I’d like to know exactly how.
I saved this one for last because it seems to be the biggest case of blasphemy judging by how many people have come for my neck for not watching it. Although I haven’t seen any of his movies, I have a connection with Harry. People used to flame me when I was a kid because I had circle glasses like him. They tried me, but it’s a bond that can’t be broken.
